A big boost for the US Photonics Industry
President Joe Biden signed the chips and science act on Tuesday 9th August 2022. The chips and science act will liberate $ 52.7 billion in subsidies for US semiconductor R&D and manufacturing. Naturally, some chunk of these subsidies will boost the optics and photonics industry.
“Optics and photonics are key enabling technologies in every aspect of the chip manufacturing process, and the new law will have a very positive impact on our community,” says #SPIE CEO Kent Rochford.
